Renuka coconut milk powder is a versatile ingredient; it makes cooking easy and enjoyable. Made from real coconuts, Renuka coconut milk powder adds an intense coconut flavour and a creamy mouth-feel to any food preparation.
Cooking Directions:
Add Renuka milk powder into the food preparation and stir until done
For Thick Milk:
Add 2-3 tablespoons of Renuka coconut milk powder into one cup (150 ml) of lukewarm water, stir well
For Thin Milk:
Add 1 tablespoon of Renuka coconut milk powder into one cup (150 ml) of lukewarm water, stir well
Recipes (Serves 3-4):
Yellow Rice Mixed With Garlic And Coconut
Ingredients:
600g rice (cleaned and washed), 120g onions (chopped), 50g garlic (chopped), 1 sprig curry leaves, 1/2 inch piece cinnamon, 3 cardamoms, 2 cloves, 20 peppercorns, 1 1/2 teaspoons salt, 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder, 6 tablespoons coconut milk powder dissolved in 1 litre warm water, 3 tablespoons coconut oil or margarine
Method:
1. Heat oil or margarine. Add curry leaves, chopped onions, garlic, cinnamon, cardamoms, cloves and peppercorn and fry until light golden brown
2. Add the rice and continue frying for a few more seconds. Add turmeric only to get a very light colour
3. Add the coconut milk and salt and cook until the rice becomes fluffy and grainy (the rice may also be garnished with 50-75g of fried cashew nuts)
Spicy Chicken
Ingredients:
500g boneless chicken (cut into small cubes), 75g onions (chopped), 10g garlic (chopped), 1/2 ginger (chopped), 2 teaspoons raw curry powder, 3 teaspoons chilli powder, 1 teaspoon pepper powder, 4 tablespoons coconut milk powder, 1 tablespoon coconut oil, 1/2 teaspoon mustard cream (optional), 200 ml water, salt and lime juice to taste
Method:
1. Mix all ingredients (except water and coconut oil) well with chicken cubes
2. Leave for 10-15 minutes. Heat coconut oil in a pan and when the oil is hot, add the chicken cube mixture
3. Keep tossing until the onions become slightly fried. Add water, bring to a boil and simmer until the gravy becomes thick
4. Take away from the fire and add lime juice and salt to taste
Allergy Advice: Contains Milk.
Once opened, store in a dry place. Use a dry spoon.
