Description:Heera Premium Quality Blanched Peanuts

Blanching is basically a process of boiling something in order to help remove the skin. Blanched peanuts are simply peanuts with the skin removed. The process itself involves putting the nuts in very hot water for about 1 min, cooling them rapidly then rubbing off the skin to leave a delicious, milky coloured peanut perfect for cooking with.

Recipe for peanut soup
Ingredients: 1 pint blanched peanuts, 1/2 chopped onion, 1 thinly sliced celery stick, 1/2 a diced carrot, 500ml chicken broth, 3 tbsp butter, 2 tbsp plain flour, 1/2 tsp sea salt, 1/2 tsp paprika, 2 cups milk.

Method: Chop and crush the peanuts into exceedingly fine pieces. Place in a heavy pan. Add the onion, celery, carrot and the broth to the pan and simmer over a low heat for 20 mins. Meanwhile, in another bowl, mix the butter, flour, salt, paprika and milk to form a sauce. Mix this sauce with the other ingredients and continue to simmer for 3 mins.

Serve as it is, or for a smoother consistency put the mixture through a blender before serving.

Once opened we recommend transfer of product to an airtight container.
Store in a cool dry place away from strong flavours.
