Laksa is a coconut & prawn flavoued soup, often served with noodles, which appears in the Malaysian Cuisine during the XVth century. Laksa means "ten thousands", reportedly referring to the number of condiments to cook in this recipe created by the Ancient Chinese who migrated to Malaysia. What makes Malaysian Cuisine so well appreciated by western palates? Certainly its tangy and aromatic recipes, less spicy than Indian or Thai food, resulting from the combination of Indonesia, Portugese, Chinese, Thai, Indian and British influences.
